Contemporary Country in Lake District farmhouse

This 17th-century Cumbrian longhouse, set in the Lake District National Park, was once dark, damp, and almost uninhabitable. Through a complete renovation—inside and out, from foundations to chimney pots—we transformed it into a bright, energy-efficient, and comfortable family home, all while preserving its historic features and rustic character.

The project required the expertise of multiple skilled trades and specialists, but the result is a seamless blend of heritage and modern living. And while this renovation was extensive, a similar minimalist, contemporary country style can be achieved in other homes without such a full-scale rebuild.
